Mortgage Loan Processor
Responsibilities: Reviews mortgage loan applications. Ensure compliance with underwriting conditions. Orders appraisals, credit reports, and title reports. Logs dollar amounts received and verifies accuracy. Clarifies missing or questionable information. Follows up with members and mortgage professionals of outstanding documents. Ensures that all necessary items are available for underwriting. Tracks development of information to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines. Resolves conditions of underwriting. Submits loans for final approval. Prepares and issues conditional loan approvals for borrowers. Assists applications with addressing credit report problems, low appraisals, low salary levels, and high debt ratios. Communicates status of loans to buyer, seller, realtor and title company. Resolves (or refers) loan application requests and problems promptly and courteously. Answers member loan questions regarding applications in the process of approval. Keeps member and realtors properly informed of CU policies and procedures. Notifies members of additional information required. Researches and retrieves information from closed loans. Prepares files for closing. Checks current interest rate lock. Obtains records for homeowners insurance and flood certification. Prepares appropriate documents for members. Calculates closing figures. Reviews all closing documents for completeness and accuracy including title reports and lock confirmations. Schedules closing appointments with title companies. Underscores loans for disbursement prior to funding. Obtains and signs off closing conditions. Prepares and completes monthly reports. Assists and supports Mortgage Loan personnel as needed. Replaces absent Mortgage Loan personnel as required. Reaches and retrieves information from closed loans.
Requirements: One year to three years of similar or related experience. A high school education or GED. Understanding of mortgage loan processing functions, including FHA/VA and conventional lending. Knowledge of mortgage related requirements, procedures and underwriting criteria. Strong typing abilities. Good basic math skills. Able to use related computer applications. Well organized.
Call Center Representative (Beaumont, TX)
Responsibilities: Respond to general inquiries regarding the CU and its products and services. Assist members and potential members with initiating all available deposit accounts, perform account research. Interview members, take loan applications and/or recommend loan alternatives. Cross-sell products and services to members as a solution to member needs. Maintain appropriate records and prepare required reports for deposit accounts and loans, including disclosures and other compliance related requirements.
Requirements: Six months to two years of similar or related experience. A high school education or GED. Must have good listening and communication skills, ability to operate general office equipment, must be able to operate related computer software as provided by the CU. Ability to generate essential reports, interprets data and calculates ratios, identify acceptable manners of personal identification for telephone security. Must understand the basics of the Federal Reserve System, check clearing process and negotiable instruments and internal and external electronic ACH.
Collections Manager – Full Time (Beaumont, TX)
Responsibilities: Primary duties overseeing Collection Department functions and supervising department staff; conducting performance appraisals, employee training and development, document performance issues. Allocating resources to meet operational needs within department. Reviews and approves, denies or modifies collection recommendations from subordinates. Oversees and evaluates products, policies, and procedures currently in place, recommends and implements changes as needed. Contacts delinquent accounts by phone and mail; takes appropriate action to bring current. Arranges the sale of repossessed collateral; determines additional investment to be made in collateral. Analyzes financial situation of delinquent borrowers; takes action to repossess collateral when arrangements to bring the loan are unsuccessful. Informs management of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged-off loans.
Requirements: Candidates will have at least three years of similar or related experience. A two year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school. Must have above average listening, communication and negotiating skills. Ability to operate related computer software and business equipment including Microsoft Office and Outlook, and ten-key calculator.
Teller I-Full Time (Beaumont, TX)
Responsibilities: Primary duties include processing monetary transactions of members (i.e. cashier’s checks, money orders, traveler’s checks, saving bonds, loan payments, etc.), and managing the funds of an assigned station; delivering quality member service by greeting and responding to members promptly and courteously and executing competent security procedures by being observant and informed about potential security risks.
Requirements: Candidates will have at least six months cash handling experience, with prior teller experience being a plus; a high school diploma or equivalent; must know 10-key by touch and be proficient using Windows-based operating systems. Strong customer service skills, in addition to a high level of detail orientation are necessary. In addition, must have the ability to cross-sell credit union promotions and products.
